Many people do not understand that it is a constitutional right to video and/or take pictures in a public place. No, police officers may not like it and may get rude or even make threats of further citations or arrest. It is your legal right to film the encounter, and I would highly advise you to do so.

Yes, police officers wear body cams; however, consider this. The police officer’s video footage is not there to protect you; it is there to protect them. If something incriminating to the officer happens to be on the body cam footage, do you honestly think that footage will be shared in court? The likelihood of that happening is pretty much zilch. Instead, it will most likely be conveniently lost at your expense. The only video footage or photos that will ever help you in court is your own. This guy has a lot of interesting things to say about what you should know when you are pulled over for a traffic stop.
